Leah Seward

My name is Leah Seward and I moved to Las Vegas 8 years ago! The Hospitality industry moved me out here from Houston, TX where I pursued my lifelong dream of working for MGM Resorts Int.! After the shock and awe of the Las Vegas strip lost its luster, I moved my career outward to Summerlin, working for WeWork Two Summerlin which opened 3 years ago this June. It’s been amazing being integrated with the community, both as a Hospitality professional and a Summerlin local. I’ve met so many incredible entrepreneurs and business people alike that all have the same love for this city! They bring Las Vegas to life, in my opinion, and I love being immersed in the center of Summerlin!

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband and I were married 5 years after moving to Las Vegas. We married at the Little Church of the West in the middle of the Pandemic! We purchased our first home in 2020 and have loved the experience of being homeowners in the NorthWest.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Started in the M.A.P program with MGM Resorts International and worked as the Concierge Supervisor at Excalibur for a few years. I was looking to move into luxury and landed Hotel Assistant Manger roles within Four Seasons Las Vegas. I was recruited by a fellow Four Seasons colleague to open the WeWork locations in Las Vegas in 2019!

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I love Elia, La Strega & Harlo, Block 9 Thai Street Eats to name a few!

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
July 4th 2022 will by 8 years in Las Vegas!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
The most interesting person I’ve met while in Las Vegas was probably the General Manager of Excalibur (at the time I met her), now the President and COO of Bellagio, Ann Hoff. She ran a tight ship while I worked for her and I am always a huge fan of women in leadership! She’s paving the way for a lot of young women in the Hotel and Casino business.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would travel to London! It’s been too long (since college!) and I’m craving this little tiny English breakfast spot called the “Muffin Man”. They serve the most delicious honey and scones I’ve had in my life!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
TV shows trending right now for me would be Ozarks and Selling Sunset (guilty pleasure).

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Don’t wait!!!! The longer you wait to have that tough conversation, make the career move, try-out for that opportunity the longer the energy and dread of it weighs on you!

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To go paragliding with my dad.

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
I love Billie Eilish after she produced “Ocean Eyes”.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
La Strega makes me nostalgic because it was the first restaurant opened within walking distance to my 2nd apartment in Las Vegas.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would absolutely meet with Christina Aguilera (I adore her!) for pizza at Mod Pizza!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love the entertainment aspect of the city; the vibe and energy is tangible!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Living in a new city, working in a tech company, adopting another dog! Lots of opportunities!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’ve moved 7 times as a child and 3 as an adult!

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
My parents backyard… they live at the base of the Wasatch Mountains in SLC, UT. It’s beautiful all year around.

Cold brew on tap at WeWork Two Summerlin 10/10

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My boss, Kristen Corson!

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
The smell when you roll down your window driving into Mt. Charleston
